AVOCADO MILKSHAKE /BUTTER FRUIT JUICE RECIPE

Avocado milkshake recipe
Avocado milkshake recipe was in my try list for a long time.In Indian juice shops,it is mostly mentioned as butter fruit juice.Based on its consistency u can call it as a juice or milkshake.I tasted this milkshake without condensed in a juice shop recently.It was very nice yes.From then,i wanted to post this recipe in my food book because this is the easiest avocado recipes and it amazing health benefits.As u all know,avocado recipes tastes the best only when the fruit is ripe else u can't even taste a bit of it  and U have to throw the entire dish into the binfrown.Please be careful while buying an avocado.Check out this link on How to choose n buy Avocado if u are buying it for the first time.When u have a ripe avocado in hand,don't forget to try this healthy,easy n tasty milkshake recipe.U'll love its taste.Do check out my super soft avocado paratha and guacamole dip  with its health benefits if u are interested.

Ingredients
  • Ripe Butter fruit/Avocado - 1/2 no
  • Cold milk - 2 cups
  • Sugar - 1- 2 tbsp
 
Instructions
  1. Wash and cut avocado into two vertically. U'll find a big seed inside.Remove it and discard.Now scoop out the pulp using a ladle.
  2. Grind it in a mixer or juicer adding sugar or honey &  cold milk.Adjust more or less milk based on the desired consistency.

Note
  • For variations,Use honey in place of sugar.

GUACAMOLE– MEXICAN AVOCADO DIP |AVOCADO RECIPES

I wanted to try avocado dip, Guacamole for long time. I was looking for tortilla chips & nachos here.Last week i got a pack of nachos and i immediately tried this dip..This one is easy to make, healthy n tasty too..I referred the recipe here..Now, without this dip, we are not able to eat nachos Winking smile. I’ve given few tips at the end about how to buy good avocados . Its for beginners. Please go through it.For health benefits , please click here..

INGREDIENTS
  • Ripe avacado – 1 no
  • Big onion – 2 nos
  • Green chilli – 1-2 nos
  • Tomato – 1 no  ( Deseed and chop)
  • Lemon juice – 1.5 – 2  tsp
  • Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp
  • Salt – As needed.
  • Pepper powder – 1/2 tsp ( adjust)
METHOD
  • Cut the avocado in half and remove the seed & take the pulp using a spoon & discard the skin.
  • Using a fork, mash the avocado roughly. Don’t overdo it.It should be little chunky.
  • Chop the onions,  green chillies , coriander leaves very finely.
  • Now in a big bowl , take all the finely chopped veggies except tomato.
  • Mix everything and add the avocado pulp. Mix little.
  • Close the bowl with a plastic wrap or lid & refrigerate it until use.
  • When u r about to serve , chop the tomatoes finely and add it to the dip.Mix well, check for salt and spice .
Serve with nachos or tortilla !!

NOTE
  • I have given the quantity of ingredients as per our liking. Please add or subtract them as per ur wish Smile
  • Chilling tomatoes changes the taste of the dip. So please don’t chop or add to dip until ready to serve ..
  • Always keep the guacamole mixture wrapped or covered to prevent oxidation and change of color.
  • Refrigerate until ready or make it fresh n eat.

TIPS
How to buy good avacados
  • There are varieties of avacados available in the market. They are Hass, Lamb Hass, Gwen, Reed, or Sharwil , Bacon and Zutano..
  • Bacon and Zutano varieties are light in flavor.
  • Others have a nutty taste.
  • Good avacados can be first identified by its color.Ripe avacado looks dark green to black in color.. Some varieties look light green in color.
  • When you want to examine them. Take an avacado and keep it in ur palm. Just press it lightly.Do not use ur finger tips as it may bruise them.
  • If it gives slightly , it is ready to eat. If it is over ripe, pressing them gives a mushy feeling and ur fnger may sink into the skin.  If the skin is hard to touch and if it doesn’t give , the avacado is not ripe yet.
  • If u planning to keep it for somedays, u can buy the unripe avacado , wrap it in a paper and keep it for 4-5 days to ripen.It can be kept in room temperature.
  • Avocados can be stored in a refrigerator until eaten to slow the ripening process.
  • Avocados with the highest oil content are the Hass, Pinkerton, Sharwil and Fuerte varieties.
  • This buying method may be useful for people who plan to use avocado oil for health and diet or skin and beauty purposes.

Super Soft Avocado Paratha | Avocado Recipes

When i came to know the health benefits of avacado , I wanted to try some recipes with it.I  tried a milk shake & it was too bitter in taste.I started running miles away when i see avacado in shops.Then i found ripe avacado wont taste bitter.I again browsed for some other recipes and came across this post. She has given the title as “super soft paratha” . I tried on the same day and yes it was really super soft. So i too gave the same title Winking smile . I made little changes in the actual recipe according to our taste.Thanks a lot shoba for helping me with this recipe. Smile. This paratha would be ideal for travel & lunch box.After trying this paratha successfully , i wish to make milk shake again Eye rolling smile.. Please try this recipe if u have ripe avacado in hand .. Please don’t take chance in trying with raw ones. It will taste bitter to the core Nyah-Nyah

INGREDIENTS
1 cup - 200ml
  • Wheat flour – 1 cup
  • Ripe avocado – 1 no ( pulpy ones)
  • Big onion – 1 no ( Grated)
  • Green chillies – 2 nos ( Grated)
  • Garlic cloves – 7-8 nos ( Grated)
  • Coriander leaves – Few
  • Garam masala powder – 3/4 tsp
  • Salt – as needed
  • Lime juice – 2 tsp
  • Water – Very little ( 1-2 tbsp) .. Add only if needed
  • Oil – Little to make parathas
METHOD
  • Cut the ripe avacado into two and take out the seed.
  • Remove the pulp using a spoon.
  • In a bowl ,grate the onion, green chillies and garlic cloves.
  • Mix everything with the avacado pulp and add the required salt., garam masala powder , coriander leaves.
  • Mix all the ingredients to the wheat flour  and make a dough .
  • There is no need to add water. If needed , add a tbsp of it.
  • Take a lemon sized ball and roll thick or thin paratha by dusting in the flour.
  • Heat a dosa pan and make parathas pouring little oil around it.
  • Serve hot with a simple raita or pickle !!

POINTS TO NOTE
  • Garam masala powder is not used in the actual recipe. But i used it.
  • This paratha is soft by itself,no need to add butter milk or besan flour. No issue even they are added.
  • Please use ripe , pulpy avacado. If u use raw ones,paratha will taste bitter.
  • One avacado is sufficient for the above recipe.
