I have the fondest memories of making ( but mostly eating) modak at my grandma’s! <br /><br />May I however, just point out... ukadiche modak, are *not* from the north of India. <br />This is a typical Maharashtrian preparation. Maharashtra, is to the west of India. <br /><br />In fact, most of my North Indian friends are unaware of Modak ( steamed or fried).
