Instructions
Soak tamarind and take extract with 1 cup of water.
Take the tamarind extract in a bowl. Add salt, turmeric powder and boil for few minutes.
In the mean time, coarsley grind the ingredients given under "homemade Rasam powder".
Add this powder to the boiling rasam and little water. Mix well.
When the rasam starts to boil and becomes frothy, switch off the flame.
Close it with a lid.
Temper mustard seeds, cumin seeds and hing in ghee.
Add to the rasam and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
Enjoy with plain rice !
