This no onion, no garlic Andhra style tomato peanut chutney natively known as Tomato Palli Pachadi or Palli Chutney is a creamy, spicy side dish that perfectly complements South Indian breakfast items like Idli, dosa. Made with roasted groundnuts (peanuts), chillies, tangy tomatoes and a quick tempering, this groundnut tomato chutney requires minimal ingredients and comes together in minutes.

Sendhil loves chutneys made using groundnut. I usually make Peanut/Groundnut chutney in this way. I was looking for a Peanut/Kadlekai chutney with the combination of tomato & red chillies but without onion. I came across this recipe in Sailu’s kitchen. This tomato peanut chutney without onion tastes great for idli, dosa.

Notes
- Add more chillies if you like spicy chutney.
- I sauteed the green chillies too. But the original recipe called for using raw chilli.
- For variations, you can add one chopped onion, 3 garlic cloves. Saute in oil and grind. It gives a different flavor and taste.

FAQ
Over-roasting the peanuts or burning the chilli during sauting can cause bitterness. Roast on a medium-low flame.
It is best enjoyed fresh, but you can store it in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Avoid freezing as the peanuts lose their creamy texture.
You can reduce the number of red chillies or skip green chilli to make it less spicy.
